“Thought reform” is something we might associate with Maoist China, where citizens would be forced to confess “sins” that weren’t really sins so they could be “enlightened” with state ideology. But Mao’s spirit has been resurrected — in the United States. Just ask high school senior William Clark, who shares the name of the famous explorer and is having his own adventure, of the “woke” variety. That is, his mother reports that he was failed by his teacher for refusing to confess his “white dominance.”
The kicker: Clark is identified as “bi-racial.”
The bonus: His mother also says that he was directed to “unlearn Christian principles.”

I discussed our moral decline — and how to right the ship.
We don’t know if Jody Maillet is more Catholic than the pope. But he does appear more Catholic than his local Catholic school board — and this has gotten him in hot water with the (thought?) police. In fact, after asking that board not to celebrate “Pride month” or fly the rainbow flag and citing both Catholic teaching and the Bible to buttress his position, cops are investigating the Canadian part-time university instructor over allegations he committed a “hate crime.”

Milo is seeking the halo.
Prominent conservative activist and writer Milo Yiannopoulos was best known for bleached-blond hair, trolling leftists, appearing at college talks dressed in drag, and, most notably, his unabashed homosexuality. But he’ll soon, apparently, be better known for something that truly brings scorn today: Coming out as “ex-gay.”
Describing himself thus and as “sodomy free,” Yiannopoulos is now more fully embracing the Catholic faith in which he was raised; in fact, he’s even leading a daily online consecration to St. Joseph.
Much as with St. Augustine and his famous prayer “Lord, make me chaste, but not yet!” Yiannopoulos had said in a 2019 interview that he knew his behavior was wrong but that insofar as rectifying it went, “I’m just not there yet.” He also confessed, “I don’t know if I’ll get there.”
But now, it appears, he’s arriving.

Giving new meaning to the term “discriminating shopper,” products are now sometimes being presented with something other than an ingredients label: signs indicating their producers’ race, ethnicity, or even sexual inclination. My, what could possibly go wrong?
A better question is: What has already gone wrong?

Two millennia ago, Marcus Junius Brutus approached Roman statesman Cicero, confessed his error in supporting Julius Caesar and complained that something must be done to rescue the republic from the leader’s designs. The wise Cicero’s bitter reply was, “Do not blame Caesar; blame the people of Rome who have so enthusiastically acclaimed and adored him and rejoiced in their loss of freedom…. Julius was always an ambitious villain, but he is only one man.”
Nothing has changed in 2,000 years. We still have our ambitious villains and would-be Caesars. Speaking of which, it’s also true that Andrew Cuomo is just one man — and that he’d be nothing without millions of enablers.
