Gone are the days when we’d say, quoting Pogo, “We have met the enemy and he is us.” Now most Americans say the enemy is the guy next door, so to speak.
That’s according to a new CBS/YouGov survey finding that what frightens Americans most isn’t imperialistic China, its viral export, economic woes, nuclear threats, terrorism, or “climate change.” It’s other Americans.

Joe Biden isn’t yet airbrushing critics from history books as did that other Joe, Stalin, but his government-censorship proxies are “disappearing” criticism. It’s not just Big Tech suppression of conservative commentary and Web comments, either, but now also, even, the elimination of YouTube “dislikes.”
The issue is that despite China Joe supposedly getting 81 million votes — the most of any president in history (ahem, cough) and 15 million more than Barack Obama — he has just never seemed very popular. His campaign rallies always looked a bit like the Chernobyl area circa 1987, and polls had to be pressure-cooked to give him illusory leads.
For another example, Biden was upset that President Trump’s POTUS Twitter account followers wouldn’t automatically be transferred to him, and on that platform he currently “boasts 16% fake internet followers (which are bots and the like), which is quite a high count, particularly with Twitter now scrubbing accounts for fake followers,” writes commentator Monica Showalter. “Many pols have been known to put them there to appear more popular than they are (see Kamala Harris), so one can just guess the story with Biden.”
Now comes this: A woman named Zoe Phin has examined Javascript code and learned that YouTube is sending Biden videos’ “dislikes” out into the cornfield.

“Looking out for the little guy” used to mean protecting him. Now it sometimes means “Look out! He might get some of what we got!” as the Establishment protects itself from him.
This partially explains why the powers-that-be gamed the electoral system against President Trump last year. It partially explains why Twitter competitor Parler.com was taken down by GoogTwitFace. And it explains why the system was gamed against a group of regular-guy GameStop investors on behalf of billion-dollar hedge funds.

In a way, the face mask is a most fitting symbol of our time. Truth today is, after all, increasingly masked, with “cancel culture” compelling people to lie about more and more matters and a Deep State that operates in secret. Now we’re concealing a physical truth distinguishing ourselves from each other, our countenance, and covering up muzzle-like what we use to utter Truth. Not only that, we shouldn’t expect face-covering mandates to be lifted, either — not so long as the Left is in charge.

You’re “now responsible for my life. You have a responsibility to me,” Governor Andrew Cuomo self-righteously said in April, referring to COVID-19 precautions. “Get your head around the ‘we’ concept,” he scolded moments later. “It’s not all about you.”
But it may be all about Cuomo to Cuomo, and about his political career, as the New York governor continues to dodge blame for his state’s nursing-home deaths. But the dodging just got harder, with a new report showing that this death toll is far higher than Cuomo’s health officials had claimed.

Unless the temporary restraining order against Joe Biden’s immigration “moratorium” becomes permanent, we have just a bit less than two weeks to disaster. This is essentially the message of former White House aide Stephen Miller, who warned Monday that Biden’s executive order is the “most extreme direction … in the history of modern law enforcement.”

Calling Donald Trump’s impeachment trial a “sham,” Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) tacitly and rightly impeached the character of its Democrat authors in a rousing Tuesday Senate floor speech.
Aside from illustrating the hypocrisy of charging the ex-president with inciting an insurrection, when Trump’s rhetoric had been tame compared to that of a multitude of rabble rousing Democrats, Paul had also filed a point of order objecting to the trial on the basis that it’s unconstitutional. While he lost on that 55 to 45, with five GOP senators voting with the Democrats, his words were not lost on those with ears to hear.

It’s shocking enough that Pakistan recently told two American Muslims that they could face 10-year prison sentences unless they took down a “blasphemous” U.S.-based website. Worse still is that Pakistan has long had help in imposing Sharia law from a value-signaling U.S.-based tech company — Twitter.

“Where did this come from?” asked feminist Kara Dansky Friday evening. “And why is this happening?” She was referring to allowing men claiming womanhood to use females’ private spaces, join their sports teams, and qualify for their scholarships. This is in the news currently because Joe Biden signed an infamous Wednesday executive order mandating that this “transgender” standard must be applied by all educational institutions receiving federal funding.
Answering her own questions, Dansky said that the “transgender” agenda was being enabled by “rank misogyny — and it is coming from the Left.” Of course, it certainly is coming from the Left. But is “misogyny” really to blame?
Well, I suppose that when all you have is a hammer (and sickle?), everything does look like a nail.
