• Why Honesty Is the Key to MAGA — and the Good Life

    Truth vs. LiesBy Selwyn Duke

Many years ago now, I encountered a man wearing a T-shirt stating “Everybody lies, nobody cares.” I thankfully never saw that shirt again. But I did think to myself at the time, “Well, I don’t lie — and I do care.”

We all should. No one had to explain why, either, to John Birch Society founder Robert Welch. He addressed the importance of honesty in 1970, writing:

If all men (and women too, of course), from diplomats to drunken bums, would simply resolve tomorrow always to be truthful, about everything — to the best of their knowledge and understanding — and would then abide by that resolution, I believe that fully half of all the troubles and grief of the human race would disappear within six months.

While one could quibble about what percentage of problems would disappear and how fast, the basic principle is unarguable. It’s as with a computer: garbage in, garbage out. If the input is incorrect, so will the output be. But if the data fed into the system is correct — is Truth — the output will also be correct.

  • Immigration Tyranny and Violence: What’s Really Happening in Northern Ireland?

    Failure FigureBy Selwyn Duke

Here’s a thought exercise: Imagine a substantial number of Europeans are being moved into some indigenous South Americans’ territory. Now imagine a percentage of them are “illegals” and, what’s more, that they’re given government-funded housing locals often can’t afford. Imagine, too, that this drives up rent further, making the housing even more inaccessible to the indigenous. Also imagine that “hate speech” laws ensure that if the locals complain about the injustice, they can be arrested. And then there’s the straw that breaks the camel’s back:

A few of these illegals sexually assault an indigenous girl.

Would it be surprising if this sparked a spasm of violence? (Note: This is not synonymous with asking, “Would such violence be moral?”)

If you say the above four “imagines” strain the imagination, perhaps they should. But you actually don’t have to imagine.

  • Jake Tapper Gets Taste of How the Revolution He Enabled Eats Its Own

    Prejudice SignBy Selwyn Duke

Be careful about the beasts you create, the beasts you nurture, the beasts you feed. Liberal pundit Juan Williams learned this (or did he?) the hard way in 2010, when NPR fired him after a confession that seeing people in Muslim garb on airplanes made him nervous. (Apparently, you can’t be liberal and human.) Now CNN anchor Jake Tapper has gotten a bit of the “Leon Trotsky” treatment, over his 15-year-old son’s police ambitions. And, no, Tapper won’t be fired. But he is fired up over what he views as an attack on his lad — and over Democrats’ woke-joke status.

  • Claim: “Intellectual” Academics Are Fleeing Trump’s “Anti-intellectual” America. The Reality?

Back to School DuncecapBy Selwyn Duke

“There are some ideas so absurd that only an intellectual could believe them,” noted legendary author George Orwell. What might be an example? Try this on for size:

You’re a college professor who flees your country, claiming you fear loss of Academic Freedom™. This is even though it’s a place where you can’t be arrested for expressing opinions. And your solution?

You move to a country where you can be arrested for expressing opinions.

If you don’t quite get the logic, well, sorry, I guess you’re just not an “intellectual.” Suck it up.

Regardless, this is precisely what has been happening in the United States this year, the media claim. College professors have been leaving for Europe.

  • Corporate Media: Don’t Believe Your Lyin’ Eyes — L.A. Riots Are Mostly Right-wing Myth

    Con ManBy Selwyn Duke

It was in 2020 that CNN made itself a laughingstock by running the chyron, “Fiery But Mostly Peaceful Protests….” Now CNN, and the rest of the corporate media, is at it again, this time trivializing Los Angeles-riot violence. They have once more sunk to comical depths, too.

The rioting began Friday in the wake of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raid in the city. Apparently, the protesters are upset that interlopers who’ve invaded our country may suffer the indignity of having to return home.

As to the rioting, an estimated 1,000 miscreants caused mayhem the evening of June 6. This prompted President Donald Trump to deploy the National Guard to L.A. on Saturday. If you listened to the corporate media, however, you might not be able to imagine why he’d do such a thing. (Unlike ex-Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, he didn’t, as she put it in 2015, give “those who wished to destroy, space to do that.”)

  • GOP Congresswoman Mistakes Sikh for Muslim; Her Critics Mistake U.S. for USSR Constitution

Back to School DuncecapBy Selwyn Duke

A congresswoman created quite a stir Friday when she mistook a Sikh religious leader for a Muslim and then criticized his “Islamic” prayer before Congress. The condemnation this inspired came from both sides of the aisle, too, with many mocking her grasp of civics. Of course, it’s not unusual for Americans to mistake Sikhs for Muslims, as most people aren’t comparative-religion experts. Far more troubling, though, is what has gone unmentioned: The representative’s critics apparently aren’t even constitutional experts.

  • Ex-Democrat: Dems Are “Dying,” Going “the Way of the Whigs”; GOP Is “a New Party”

    Banana RepublicBy Selwyn Duke

Ours certainly is a time of political change — some would say upheaval. Just recently, disaffected Democratic ex-governor Rod Blagojevich condemned his own party as a den of “monumental” “hypocrites and liars.” Now he has been joined by a former Democrat who adds a prognosis to his diagnosis.

The party is “on its last stand,” she says. It is a “dying party” that will “go the way of the Whigs.”

  • Salon Complains: “Minneapolis Isn’t Sorry About George Floyd”

    By Selwyn Duke

We now live, some would say, in an upside-down world. Back in 1934, police ambushed criminals Bonnie and Clyde by a remote highway, firing approximately 130 rounds. There were so many holes in the corpses, the undertaker later said, that he had trouble embalming them. But the cops didn’t end up in prison, and nobody said the government and larger society should be sorry about the pair’s plight. They were infamous lawbreakers, after all.

Yet today police can become infamous if they treat criminals just a bit too roughly — or even merely do their jobs. An example is miscreant George Floyd’s 2020 death, whose five-year anniversary occurred on Memorial Day.

And, boy, is he ever being memorialized. Just consider an article at left-wing Salon by one Taylor Carik. “Minneapolis isn’t sorry about George Floyd,” Carik laments and scolds. Yet he’s not surprised because, as he explains, Minnesota is “The Jim Crow of the North.” We don’t know if Carik wrote this with a straight face. But it’s likely as true as Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s claim that conservatives find his masculinity intimidating.

  • Nevada Official Admits Hiding “Trans” Castration Surgeries From Parents

    Sex Symbols-ConfusionBy Selwyn Duke

“Let’s keep this our little secret,” child predators sometimes tell their victims. This apparently was the attitude, too, of a Nevada official who was hiding youth “trans” castration surgeries from parents. This man was also using a loophole to get Medicaid (our tax dollars) to pay for the sexual-distortion treatments (SDTs).

This time, however, the dark secret has been brought to light, by an undercover operation by O’Keefe Media Group (OMG). As that organization reported Friday (note: the official, being woke, uses the wrong pronouns to identify a cited youth):

  • Democratic Former Gov. Blagojevich: Democrats Are “Monumental” “Hypocrites” and “Liars”

    PinnochioBy Selwyn Duke

It’s quite something when a politics devotee confesses that his own party and the Truth don’t share the same address. This happened in 2016, when Democratic operative and vote fraudster Scott Foval admitted that there’s a higher “level of adherence to rules on the other side [Republicans].” But while Foval only let the Truth slip on hidden video, that’s not the case with Democratic former Governor Rod Blagojevich.

In fact, the ex-Illinois head said in a recent interview, “Democrats are hypocrites, and they are liars on a monumental scale.” Blagojevich didn’t hold back on declaring who was the Prince of Prevarication, either.

“The king of the Democratic liars is [California Senator] Adam Schiff,” he said. “If there was a hall of fame for liars … Adam Schiff would be Elvis.”
