Now there’s the following headline in 2025:

    “Germany: Incredible 99% of serious terror cases were foreigners and Islamic extremists.”

    Meanwhile, the German powers that be are still talking about banning the anti-immigrationist party Alternative for Germany (AfD). This is a bit like having a population suffering a scurvy epidemic — and talking about banning citrus fruit.

  • Hunter (and Grok) Says Yes, but Do Native-born Whites Really Commit More Crime Than Illegals?

    A motley crew of media and others, from Politifact to the CATO Institute, have claimed that illegal aliens have a lower crime rate than native-born Americans do. In a recent interview, prodigal presidential son Hunter Biden went even further. He claimed that white males are 45 times as likely to commit violent crimes as immigrants are. Why, even Grok artificial intelligence, in a contentious Monday thread, claimed that white men are bigger perps than illegals.

    The whole idea here, obviously, is to sanitize illegal migration. “These ‘undocumented’ enrich the country,” is the implied argument. “They’re safer to have around than Mr. White Bread next door!”

    This is counterintuitive, of course, and for good reason.

    It’s completely untrue.

    In fact, I got Grok to say uncle and confess its error. But before getting to the artificial stupidity, let’s start with the natural variety.

  • SCOTUS May Overturn 45-year Precedent — Which Itself Overturned 193-year Precedent

    Should the Ten Commandments be displayed in public schools? With relatively new Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas laws mandating such, this matter may soon come before the Supreme Court.

    The reportage on this is interesting, too. The “Court may soon consider overturning 45-year precedent,” reads a recent Newsweek headline. Unmentioned is that this now-“45-year precedent” itself overturned a 193-year precedent: That of almost two centuries of American tradition and practices, nationwide and by numerous generations, based on consensus constitutional understanding. For it wasn’t uncommon for government schools to display the Ten Commandments prior to 1980. For that matter, the Bible was also typically used in American education in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

    Apparently, though, an entire civilization’s multi-generational determinations are irrelevant. Only the momentary judgments of a handful of lawyers in black robes can be considered “precedent.”

  • Old Media Dying: Waning CBS Cancels Colbert. Is Kimmel Next?

    “So, for the first time in history, Americans have stopped watching NBC, CBS TV, and ABC,” reported commentator Bill O’Reilly Thursday. “Their viewing level has fallen below 20 percent — unheard of.”

    “And it’s because they’re boring and they’re far left,” O’Reilly elaborated. “That’s the two reasons.”

    The latest casualty of this legacy-media collapse is notable, too.

    CBS is canceling The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, effective after the 2025-’26 season.

    The move will end what will have been a 33-year run that began with host David Letterman in 1993. Colbert took the show’s helm in 2015, shortly after Letterman’s retirement.

    The news-making announcement has prompted some observers to ask: Is this the death of the late-night genre? Actually, it portends far more:

    The old media’s slow but sure demise, as new media come to flower and inherit the former’s mantle. With media/entertainment not being on our culture’s periphery, but at its center, it’s a sea change at least as significant as the transition from horse and buggy to automobile.

    It was back in 1880’s Britain that liberal politician Sir William Harcourt infamously said, “We are all socialists now.” (Perhaps this would explain why today’s Britain is poorer than Mississippi — literally.) But here’s a question:

    Should the Democratic Party make this pronouncement now?

    And should they add, “And communism can sorta’ fly, too”?

    After all, their latest golden boy, NYC Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani, has openly talked about seizing “the means of production” and abolishing private property, communist tenets both.

    Facing severe manpower shortages in WWII’s waning months, Nazi Germany conscripted adolescent boys, some as young as 12, into military service. This was a sign of desperation, of course, one that ended well for neither kids nor country. And we see another attempt to recruit the young for something they’re ill prepared for today.

    Britain’s ruling Labour Party will allow 16-year-olds to vote in the next general election.

    What’s more, the party, the approximate equivalent of our Democrats, has dumbed down voter ID laws. My, a cynical observer could suspect that they believe poorly informed, inexperienced, and/or illegal voters are likely to support them.

The process, known as “androcide,” has occurred numerous times in history. The idea: Neuter a society by eliminating masculinity — in this case, by eliminating the masculine sex itself — and it’s yours. Rebellion against you is removed from the equation.

    But there’s another way of neutering a society, too: Killing manhood emotionally and spiritually.

Chesterton, “but an absence of self-criticism.” This could come to mind with a recent Wall Street Journal piece titled “Gen Z, the Useful Idiot Generation.” Oh, it’s not that the authors are wrong about how “leftism” greatly infects this relatively young cohort. It’s this: Who are the more useful useful idiots?

    Is it the more indoctrinated young people?

    Or the less indoctrinated older people who allowed them to become more indoctrinated?

  • Beck and Hanson Warn: “How America Elects a Socialist President in 2028”

    “The Democratic Party won’t be in power for a long, long time now,” we hear. The idea is that there has been a “realignment” and/or that the wrong ideology (wokeness) has hobbled the party. Well, we’ve seen this movie and its remakes before. The ending is always the same, too.

    After Republican President Richard Nixon’s resounding victories in 1968 and ’72 — the latter being American history’s biggest landslide, with Nixon winning 520 electoral votes and 49 states — some observers said Democrats’ fractured coalition meant the party was nearing collapse.

    It won the very next election, in 1976.
