• Bankrolling Beelzebub: Big Biz Gives the Alt-left, Including BLM, $454 MILLION

    Hammering AmericaBy Selwyn Duke

Question: What’s the main difference today between the average politically correct university and your typical large corporation?

Answer: The size of their bank accounts.

Too often now big business, like academia, is in thrall to cultural revolutionaries. Given this, it’s perhaps not surprising that, motivated by the George Floyd police-war-on-blacks lie, corporate America has given a whopping $454 million to leftist groups and causes — even those as radical as agitator group Black Lives Matter (BLM).

  • Devolution to Revolution: An Already Demoralized U.S. is Now Being Destabilized

    Angel vs. DemonBy Selwyn Duke

The two destabilizing events recently occurring back-to-back, the response to the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic and the George Floyd rioting, illustrate well how America is now institutionally incapable of making decisions in her own best interests. That is, the overreaction to the disease and under-reaction to the rioting reflect a country long demoralized.

Moreover, if that’s not troubling enough, know that this is a state of being that usually leads to tyranny.

  • The George Floyd Lie: “The Issue Is Always the Revolution”

    Burning VanBy Selwyn Duke

It’s amazing what can be accomplished in a lie’s name. As with the Reichstag fire, the George Floyd incident actually happened but has been portrayed as representing something it doesn’t: In reality, police are more likely to kill white than black suspects. Despite this, it’s being used as a pretext to tear down statues, cancel popular TV shows, defund police forces, stifle unfashionable opinion and, generally, further ravage our culture and institutions.

An SDS radical once wrote, “The issue is never the issue. The issue is always the revolution.” In our case, the issue is currently a “cultural revolution.”

  • After Stopping Anti-lockdown Protests, Dem Gov Says “Can’t Imagine” Stopping “Racism” Protests

Boot on Declaration of IndependenceBy Selwyn Duke

“I feel like we are living in a George Orwell novel.” That was one reaction to New Jersey governor Phil Murphy’s recent statement that he “can’t imagine” telling George Floyd anti-“racism” protesters to stay home.

This is the same politician who not only imagined telling anti-lockdown protesters to stay home, but did so, unabashedly.

Moreover, his state actually arrested a woman for trying to organize an anti-lockdown protest.

Murphy is also the man who’s still keeping “nonessential” businesses closed and who just “allowed” (June 9) churches to reopen — with strict attendance guidelines.

So making a living to feed and clothe your family is nonessential.

Gathering to worship the Creator of the Universe is nonessential enough to be subject to limits.

Protesting against government prohibition of commerce and worship, an exercise of First Amendment rights, is nonessential.

But having thousands of people gather — based on a lie and in violation of social distancing rules — is essential. Know the score now?

    It’s Power, 10; Sanity, 0.

  • U of Chicago Law Professor Says Trump Should Be “Deposed and Jailed”

Back to School DuncecapBy Selwyn Duke

Now General James Mattis “needs to encourage his military colleagues who share his respect for American democracy and the rule of law to do what he should have done in office,” wrote the academic.

“Trump should be deposed and jailed,” he elaborated, “and VP Pence should conclude his term and stand for election, if he chooses, this fall. Let the nightmare end.”

University of Chicago law professor Brian Leiter has now deleted the above, which was expressed on his personal blog, claiming it was a joke.

  • Unseen Death: Did the George Floyd Riots Just Kill Gun Control and COVID-19?

    Ar15By Selwyn Duke

It’s amazing how the right protests and riots can cure a virus. For unless you think officials refrained from quelling the recent violence and looting because they figured, “Heck, these thugs’ll drop dead of the Wuhan Flu any minute now!” it’s plain that, amazingly, they just don’t seem concerned about the disease anymore. But will the Minneapolis-inspired mayhem also cure the gun-control pandemic?

  • “Defund the Police”? The Method to the Left’s Madness

Police Line—Do Not CrossBy Selwyn Duke

Dismantling the police, a measure already proposed in Minneapolis, makes about as much sense as eliminating doctors or farmers and would likewise lead to pain and death. But if there is method to the madness, and I suspect there is in some Machiavellian quarters, it’s perhaps this: Certain leftists want to eliminate the police because they want to become the police.

Or, at least, they want their foot soldiers to fill that role.

  • The Death of David Dorn: To BLM, Black Lives Matter Not

    Shell GameBy Selwyn Duke

The revolutionaries kill who they claim to save and are the threat they claim to combat. Just ask the family of David Dorn.

Dorn, murdered by rioters in Tuesday’s wee hours while defending a friend’s business, was a 77-year-old retired black police captain but also much, much more. Friends and family describe him as a leader and larger-than-life man of virtue who mentored youths and emphasized strict ethical conduct among the officers below him.

Dorn’s death was live-streamed on Facebook, as he lay bleeding on St. Louis’s Dr. Martin Luther King Drive at approximately 2:30 a.m. in front of Lee’s Pawn & Jewelry.

  • Heighten the Curve: Why Opened States’ COVID “Spikes” Are Meaningless

    By Selwyn Duke

States that have “opened” from coronavirus lockdowns have, as many predicted, generally experienced no appreciable increase in pandemic intensity. Nonetheless, mainstream media have continued portraying every odd COVID-19 “spike” in such states as a dire portent, as CNN did over Memorial Day weekend and NBC did more recently. But as people argue over the data, something is left unsaid:

Even when virus cases do increase, it’s irrelevant.
