In New York, once found to be the least free state, politicians are working overtime trying to make ex-NYC mayor Michael Bloomberg’s ill-fated large soda ban seem the norm. The latest example is a proposal in Long Island’s Suffolk County to ban smoking “in apartment complexes, condominiums, and multi-family dwellings,” writes CBS New York, with violators facing up to a $1,000 fine.
“Smoking is already banned in many public places, and near schools and office buildings,” the site continues. But that’s not enough. In fact, CBS informs that there are two proposed laws to “reduce” second-hand smoke in Suffolk.
“‘Let me be clear, any legislation that there is a vote required that would have an impact on preventing the public or innocent people who have made a choice not to smoke, from being exposed to smoke, I will support that legislation,’ Suffolk Legislator Dr. William Spencer said,” CBS also tells us.
“Spencer, who is also a medical doctor, said secondhand smoke can permeate through cracks in walls, electrical lines, plumbing, and ventilation systems.”

Perhaps it’s the competition from the Babylon Bee. But you’d think left-wing network CNN would see a ratings shift during the interest-piquing Democrat primary season, and it has.
Its ratings have actually dropped — while rival network Fox News’s numbers have risen.
In fact, CNN couldn’t even manage one million viewers during New Hampshire primary week; this is despite being available in approximately 85 million homes.
Moreover, Fox more than tripled CNN’s viewership during the same period, the week of February 10.

Democrat frontrunners Bernie Sanders and Michael Bloomberg faced attacks last night at their party’s Nevada debate, an event that, whether or not it had a winner, surely presented six losers.
With Bernie and Bloomie having appeared to separate themselves from the field — they finished one and two in a recent poll, with Sanders leading the ex-NYC mayor by 12 points — the four other candidates knew they had to draw some blood.
Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), positioned right next to Bloomberg and falling behind him in the polls, was especially aggressive.

The organization once known as the Boy Scouts of America just filed for bankruptcy in court, but some would say it became morally and philosophically bankrupt quite a while back.
Some years ago it allowed openly homosexual boys in its ranks, then openly homosexual adult leaders; next came “transgender” kids and girls and the removal of “boy” from its name (it’s now technically SCOUTS BSA). Interestingly, though, most of these changes probably wouldn’t sit well with another scouting innovation: all-Muslim troops who pray to Allah five times daily and don’t pledge allegiance to our nation.

In this rancorous campaign season, there’s one thing both the Right and Left now agree on: Michael Bloomberg is trying to buy the presidency.
He may be succeeding, too. Having already spent approximately $400 million dollars on a campaign that’s thus far as short as his stature (he announced just three months ago), Bloomberg has vaulted to second place in a new national poll. This said, socialism appears to sell as well as money buys, as the poll also shows Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) leading the field by a significant margin, despite being outspent by Bloomberg approximately nine to one.

Ah, feel the Bern. Love him or hate him — and avowed socialist Bernie Sanders does evoke extremes in feeling — even conservatives will credit him with being honest. But they shouldn’t. Not only has the Vermont senator and presidential contender changed positions to capture today’s “woke” Democrat Party left flank, but there are three factors to be considered when assessing honesty, and Sanders fails in the most dangerous way possible.

Forget “be fruitful and multiply.” That’s so B.C. Anti-natalism is now in, and CNN is doing its part with an article touting the single life — even as fertility rates plunge and Western peoples disappear.
No, CNN isn’t going as far as the tattooed goth Australian professor prescribing extinction for humans or the young fellow suing his parents birthing him without his consent. But the network is promoting a book on “happy singlehood” and the “celebration” of solo living by a Dr. Elyakim Kislev, a professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
