• Could Proposed Gas-tax Hike Burn Down Trump’s Reelection Chances?

    Donkey-ElephantBy Selwyn Duke

George Washington could be spinning in his grave witnessing what the seat of our government, named in his honor, has become: a money-hungry, tax-levying leviathan that, like the fictional Blob, ever consumes and grows in an infinite loop, though one of loopy and lavish legislative misadventures. The latest example is a proposed increase in the gasoline tax, which — federal and state combined — already costs most Americans eight to 10 dollars on one 20-gallon fill-up.

  • Shocker: CNN’s Amanpour Suggests FBI Should Have Suppressed Anti-Clinton Speech in 2016

    Silenced ManBy Selwyn Duke

Does London-born CNN anchor Christiane Amanpour believe she’s still in Britain, where hate-speech laws can be used to suppress expression the establishment doesn’t like? One could think so, given that she actually suggested to ex-FBI director James Comey yesterday that perhaps his agency should have “shut down” Trump supporters’ anti-Hillary Clinton chants of “Lock her up!” during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Amanpour broached the matter on her eponymous CNN show when she interviewed Comey and asked, “Of course, ‘Lock her up’ was a feature of the 2016 Trump campaign. Do you in retrospect wish that people like yourself, the head of the FBI — I mean the people in charge of law and order — had shut down that language, that it was dangerous potentially, that it could’ve created violence, that it’s kind of hate speech? Should that have been allowed?”

  • Chicagoland: Crowd Intimidates Cops Making Arrest — Cops Retreat

    Banana RepublicBy Selwyn Duke

We’re not yet like Mexico, where a criminal gang just disarmed and abducted 11 policemen. But we’re moving in that direction — if a recent Chicago incident in which a crowd intimidated cops into not arresting a suspect is any indication.

  • AOC So Exalts FDR That She Thinks He Can Even Run for Office While Dead

Back to School DuncecapBy Selwyn Duke

Some have accused Democrats of voting while dead, but can Democrat politicians also run for office while dead? Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) just implied as much, saying recently that Republicans amended the Constitution to prevent liberal icon Franklin Delano Roosevelt from running for reelection — two years after his earthly demise.

  • Dems Raise Trans “Pride” Flags, Take Down POW/MIA Flags

    Sex Symbols-ConfusionBy Selwyn Duke

Not content with tearing down statues, traditions, and Christian symbols, some Democrats have now taken down POW/MIA flags from in front of their Capitol Hill offices — and have replaced them with the “Transgender Equality flag"….

  • Mexico Demands Apology From Spain for Conquest; Spain Says Go Pound Sand

    Greedy ManBy Selwyn Duke

There’s big money in the apology-extraction business today, as compelling a mea culpa can be a prerequisite for demanding reparations. So perhaps it’s no surprise that Mexico’s socialist president Andrés Manuel López-Obrador recently demanded an apology from Spain for colonial conquest. What is surprising in this age of the cowardly kowtow is Spain’s response:

Its foreign minister essentially told Mexico to pound sand.

  • Trump Doesn’t Collude to Destroy America, but CNN and Other Media Do

    Divided AmericaBy Selwyn Duke

For years a certain journalist has wryly remarked “that the Democrats have the world’s most effective public-relations team: the U.S. media.” This has now been proven yet again after the Mueller report’s release and the collapse of the Trump/Russia/collusion story.

Consider how House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) announced a pivot Monday, stating that henceforth the Democrat Party’s focus would be healthcare and, she told the media, that she hopes “the press focuses [on] healthcare,” too. And what do you think CNN — whose reportage had basically been all Trump/collusion all the time — changed its focus to Tuesday and beyond?

If you guessed “healthcare,” step to the head of the class.

  • Theology of Money? Princeton Seminary Students Want Slavery Reparations From School

    Greedy ManBy Selwyn Duke

Call it divinity degrees to dollars, a little mammon thrown in with the religion. But black seminary students in Princeton, New Jersey, are now asking their university to offer reparations for slavery. And you thought it was only young people’s minds that today’s higher education puts in chains.

  • White and Out of Sight: CU Removes All White Men From “American Political Thought” Course

    Prejudice SignBy Selwyn Duke

Did you hear about the Peking University course on Chinese thought that excluded the work of all Asian men, from Confucius to Lao Tzu to Sun Tzu? No, and such a curricular oddity wouldn’t appear in America, either — if it were a course on Chinese thought. An “American Political Thought” course that avoids study of all white men is a different matter, though, and this is exactly what’s being offered at the University of Colorado, Denver.

The offending, offensive, and apparently offended professor teaching it is one Chad Shomura. A student writing of his experiences with the course a few semesters back, Ahnaf Kalam, relates at the College Fix that Shomura “explained to the students in the room that most traditional ‘American Political Thought’ courses are too focused on the achievements of white men.”

  • UK Official Mocks Man’s Christianity; Says it’s NOT a Religion of Peace

    HandsClaspedinPrayerBy Selwyn Duke

Police fine Christians for praying without permission, a government paints over a cross mosaic, a church is invaded and Bibles are torn to pieces, and a man’s Christianity is mocked by a state official who tells him it is not a religion of peace. With one estimate holding that 300 million Christians worldwide are subject to violence and that their faith is our time’s most persecuted, it won’t surprise astute observers that the aforementioned abuses occurred just recently. But it may surprise them to learn that the scene of one was a Western nation that once helped spread Christianity throughout the world.

That country would be Britain, where ministerial department the Home Office rejected the asylum claim of an Iranian Christian, sending him an anti-Christian letter impugning his faith.
