• Student’s Grade Lowered for Using Word “Man”

    874847_lowBy Selwyn Duke

Man, oh man, when will we man-up and say no to political correctness? It certainly won’t happen soon enough for a University of Florida student just penalized for using the word “man” in an essay.

  • This 8-Month-Old British Baby Is Getting a Death Sentence

    HandsClaspedinPrayerBy Selwyn Duke

Imagine your child is born, a long-awaited bundle of joy. But there’s a problem: He has a rare and serious genetic condition. Your health coverage won’t pay for his treatment—no surprise since it’s extremely expensive. Something else is more than a surprise, though: After raising the necessary funds yourself, your healthcare provider—the government—forbids you to give your child treatment.

It says he must be left to die.

Tragically, the above doesn’t require imagination for Chris Gard and Connie Yates of London, England—it’s their real-life nightmare.

  • Democrats Seek to Outlaw “Conversion”

    Man in HandcuffsBy Selwyn Duke

If your son wants to live as a girl, that’s just fine with leftists. But if he’s experiencing same-sex attraction and wants to start liking girls, you could be charged with a crime for helping him accomplish this. That is, if the Democrats in Congress have their way.

  • Liberal Hate? Times, CNN, and Fox News Sued for Racial Discrimination

    Prejudice SignBy Selwyn Duke

Perhaps it’s evidence of how liberals project their own behaviors onto others when leveling accusations. Or maybe it’s just nonsense. What’s for sure is that hard left-wing New York Times and CNN, along with more moderate Fox News, are being sued for it: racial discrimination.

CNN has raised the most hackles of the three, with up to 175 present and former employees interested in joining a class-action racial-discrimination suit against the network. The Times case was filed last year on behalf of two black female employees by New York attorney Douglas Wigdor. Wigdor, apparently a very busy man, is also representing a total of 13 employees in two separate lawsuits against Fox.

  • Adultescence: Do Liberals Believe Voting Age Should Be Raised to 25?

    376550_blogBy Selwyn Duke

Are the BART train attackers — 40 to 60 teenagers who swarmed a train in Oakland, California, and robbed and beat passengers on April 22 — just children with immature brains who are not wholly responsible for their actions? Do leftists believe people under 25 are ill-equipped to vote? The answers to both these questions should be yes, given a new campaign in which “liberals are calling for 18- and 19-year-olds and even people in their 20s to be [criminally] charged as children, on the theory that their brains are not fully developed,” as American Thinker’s Ed Straker puts it.

  • States Fight Back: North Carolina Bill Would Nullify SCOTUS Same-sex Marriage Opinion

    Linked Male SymbolsBy Selwyn Duke

When the Supreme Court issued its unconstitutional faux (same-sex)-marriage opinion in 2015, it sought to rob states’ power to formulate marriage law. Now some legislators in North Carolina are fighting back by introducing a bill that would nullify that Obergefell v. Hodges opinion.

Filed April 11 by four Republican lawmakers, House Bill 780, also known as the “Uphold Historical Marriage Act,” states, “Marriages, whether created by common law, contracted, or performed outside of 34 North Carolina, between individuals of the same gender are not valid in North Carolina.”

The bill correctly asserts that SCOTUS “overstepped its constitutional bounds” when ruling against NC’s ban on government recognition of faux marriage. It states…

  • Why Democrats Always “Win” (Whether They Know It or Not)

    Donkey-ElephantBy Selwyn Duke

Recent election failures have Democrats wondering, “When is it our turn?” Yet universally missed amidst Republican triumphalism and Democrat despair is that when it comes to winning civilization’s loss — or, as some put it, advancing the “progressive” agenda — the Left is batting 1000.

The latest woes, for people to whom party victory is everything, involve two Democrat near-misses in special elections in Georgia and Kansas. In a Tuesday suburban Atlanta contest, Democrat Jon Ossoff failed to break the 50-percent mark against a basketful of Republicans; this means he’ll face second-place finisher, the GOP’s Karen Handel, in a June 20 runoff in which he’s considered the underdog. In the Kansas election, Republican Ron Estes defeated Democrat James Thompson by 6.8 points on April 11 to capture the seat vacated by Mike Pompeo, now CIA director.

Unsurprisingly, both parties have their post-race narratives. Democrats claim the close contests in conservative districts evidence rejection of President Trump’s agenda, and Republicans aver that Ossof’s failure reflects GOP strength, given the tremendous resources Democrats devoted to his race. But then there’s that Democrat lament:

    When do we start winning?

  • Brainwashing Shocker: MIT Press Releases “Communism for Kids” Book

    874847_lowBy Selwyn Duke

With due respect to Santayana, perhaps we can say that those who love the mistakes of the past will condemn others to repeat them. A case in point is a new book published by MIT Press that’s actually titled Communism for Kids — I kid you not.

The Washington Free Beacon reports that the book, “written by a German author who specializes in political theory and ‘queer politics,’ was released last month. The thesis of the children's book is that communism is ‘not that hard,’ but has not been implemented in the right way.”

Wow, I’ve never heard that one before. You mean, if I try touching the hot stove just one more time, it may not burn my hand?

  • Erdogan: Sick, Collapsing Europe Will Pay for Humiliating Turkey

    Man in CrosshairsBy Selwyn Duke

“Europe will pay for what they have done,” said Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan recently, calling the continent a “sick man” that has “humiliated” and “oppressed” Turks. In making this threat, he perhaps didn’t envision anything such as when Turkish forces twice reached the gates of Vienna in their bids to dominate Europe. But conquest is definitely on his mind.

  • Rogue Judge “Rules” That Texas Voter-ID Law Discriminates Against Minorities

    Judge pounding GavelBy Selwyn Duke

Our imperial judiciary has struck again, this time claiming that a Texas voter-ID law applying the same standard to everyone is “discriminatory” against minorities.

The opinion was handed down by Judge Nelva Gonzales Ramos, a Barack Obama nominee sitting on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Ramos ruled Monday that a “voter identification law the Texas Legislature passed in 2011 was enacted with the intent to discriminate against black and Hispanic voters,” reports the New York Times.

How Ramos divined this “intent” — and how it has a bearing on the actual constitutionality of the law itself (people can do the right things for the wrong reasons, after all) — was not explained.
