• The SPLC Is Again Faking a “Hate” Crisis

    Shell GameBy Selwyn Duke

It has been called the “King of Fearmongers,” though it’s better known as the SPLC. Yet it’s again earning the quoted appellation, shamelessly faking an “Islamophobia” crisis — and using the ruse to fleece gullible donors.

FrontPage Mag’s Daniel Greenfield reports on the story, writing that the SPLC — which, aside from deception, stands for the Southern Poverty Law Center — made recent headlines by claiming that the “number of anti-Muslim hate groups increased almost three-fold in 2016,” from 34 in 2015 to 101 a year later. Writes Greenfield:

What could possibly account for that growth? Statistical fakery so fake that a Vegas bookie would weep.

… The SPLC decided to count 45 chapters of Act for America as separate groups.…

  • Police Kicked Out of School Because Illegals Might Fear Them

Back to School DuncecapBy Selwyn Duke

Generally speaking, there’s no more “safe space” for law-abiding citizens than when the police occupy part of it, but this didn’t stop a New England school district from ending a program designed to build bridges between children and law enforcement.

Reporting on the story, the Associated Press writes, “A Massachusetts police department's program that sent officers into elementary schools one day a week to greet and high-five students has been ended because some people complained.”

“Northampton police started ‘High Five Friday’ in December as a way to foster better relationships between police and children,” the AP continued.

But the event was nixed last week after concerns that some students could react “negatively” upon seeing uniformed officers in school. In particular, some snowflake parents/activists worried about the response of “people of color” (as opposed to people of no color), illegal-alien kids, “or other children who may have had negative encounters with law enforcement,” as the Daily Hampshire Gazette put it.

  • Teachers Ousted From Classroom for Supporting Immigration Law

    Divided AmericaBy Selwyn Duke

While deporting the criminals known as illegal aliens now inspires protests, deporting from class teachers who express support for immigration law is often considered just — even when they express their opinions on their own time.

First there’s Collier County, Florida, elementary school teacher Veronica Fleming, who was reassigned to administrative duties after posting a Facebook message opposing last Thursday’s “Day Without Immigrants.” Then there’s an unnamed Prosser, Washington, elementary school teacher placed on leave after using Facebook to encourage people to boycott the event and report illegal aliens to authorities.

There are also teachers on leave in Jurupa Valley, California, for creating what have been described as “controversial social media posts.”

  • Milo and Minimizing Man-boy Lust

    Linked Male SymbolsBy Selwyn Duke

Self-described “virtuous troll” Milo Yiannopoulos has long gotten away with peddling vice, but this apparently changed Sunday when two videos surfaced of the Internet provocateur speaking of man-boy lust in glowing terms.

I had actually reported on one of the videos — a 2015 interview with comedian and commentator Joe Rogan — in October of last year. It didn’t get around much then, but it and another damning video have now gone viral, resulting in serious damage to Yiannopoulos’ reputation and career.

  • Trump: No Money for California. California: No Money for Feds

    Donkey-ElephantBy Selwyn Duke

Will the Golden State keep its gold in the state? That’s the threat, with California seeking ways to withhold funds from Washington after President Trump threatened the state with denial of federal funds.

Reporting on this battle of the bucks, CBS SFBayArea writes, “Officials are looking for money that flows through Sacramento to the federal government that could be used to offset the potential loss of billions of dollars’ worth of federal funds if President Trump makes good on his threat to punish cities and states that don’t cooperate with federal agents’ requests to turn over … [illegal aliens], a senior government source in Sacramento said.”

CBS continues, “‘California could very well become an organized non-payer,’ said Willie Brown, Jr, a former speaker of the state Assembly in an interview recorded Friday for KPIX 5’s Sunday morning news. ‘They could recommend non-compliance with the federal tax code.’”

California is home to approximately 40 so-called sanctuary cities and counties, a euphemistic term for jurisdictions that aid and abet the criminals known as illegal aliens.

  • Milo’s Seeming Support for Man-Boy Love and the Inaction That Undid Paterno

    Linked Male SymbolsBy Selwyn Duke

Bohemian bad boy of Breitbart Milo Yiannopoulos’ career had long been a testimonial to the notion that there’s no such thing as negative press. But this changed yesterday when attention was focused on comments he madeadvocating what one might call “situational pederasty.” Yet perhaps most damning is not what he said but what he didn’t.

Yiannopoulos failed to report child sex abuse so extreme that he himself said it “beggared belief.”

  • 10 Liberal Myths Conservatives Often Believe

    Con ManBy Selwyn Duke

Garbage in, garbage out is how it works with a computer. It’s no different with society: Misinformation yields misunderstandings and the adoption of misguided policy, personal and political.

The following are 10 liberal myths even many conservatives believe. How many did you know were commonly accepted fake news, fallacies or false history?

    1. Liberals are well-meaning—just misguided

  • The Shadow Government: Did Establishment Hack Flynn and Trump Admin.?

    Spy SilhouetteBy Selwyn Duke

Barack Obama and the deep-state establishment are continuing to “fundamentally” change America. That’s the upshot of allegations made by many observers and by officials speaking anonymously. And the Monday evening resignation of White House national security advisor Michael Flynn — ostensibly because he had an inappropriate phone conversation with Russian official Sergey Kislyak — is just the first outward sign of this, the shadow government at work.

The Flynn affair makes clear just how wide, deep, murky and entrenched is the Washington swamp — and that its daggers are out. The Washington Free Beacon, citing sources in and out of the White House, reported Tuesday that former Obama officials and loyalists waged a secret campaign to oust Flynn while others assert that an intelligence agency was settling a score.

  • Liberal Journalist: Media Should Talk about Trump being Mentally Unstable

    Donkey-ElephantBy Selwyn Duke

Declaring someone mentally ill so you could get rid of him certainly was a common strategy in communist countries. It’s reflected, too, in a recent comment by Andrew Sullivan, as the journalist advised the media make hay out of President Trump’s mental health. A person would have to be wacko to oppose the Establishment, right?

As CNN reported Monday, “‘To have such an unstable figure, incapable of accepting reality, at the center of the world, is an extremely dangerous thing,’ Sullivan said in an interview for Sunday’s ‘Reliable Sources’ on CNN.”

“Sullivan's view is that the president is exhibiting ‘bonkers’ behavior — and that if they tip toe around it, journalists are doing the public a disservice,” CNN continued.

  • NOAA Scientists Falsify Data to Dupe World Leaders on Climate Change

    Ice AgeBy Selwyn Duke

Call it faux science facilitating fake news—or just call it dangerous. Either way it amounts to a shocking revelation: Scientists with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) falsified data to dupe world leaders into signing the Paris Agreement on climate change.

Warmists have long had a problem: the last 20 years of stable or even declining temperatures, a phenomenon making a mockery of their computer models and doomsday predictions. Their answer was the “Pausebuster” paper, esoterically titled “Possible artifacts of data biases in the recent global surface warming hiatus” and strategically released via the influential journal Science—just six months before the Paris conference.
