• Patriots Win Game — Unpatriotic Fumble in the Commercials

    Failure FigureBy Selwyn Duke

Colin Kaepernick’s San Francisco 49ers didn’t make it to the Super Bowl, but this didn’t stop the quarterback’s left-wing spirit from infusing the game’s commercials. In fact, the political messages were intense enough so that some consumers now have a few more companies to add to their boycott list.

Wading into one of today’s most contentious issues, a company named 84 Lumber ran a pro-illegal-migration (pro-invasion) ad. It opens with a hot and weary mother and young daughter trekking toward the U.S. border, only to appear crestfallen after encountering Donald Trump’s proposed border wall. Lo and behold, though, they hear a noise, walk toward it and find that two large wooden doors — apparently made with 84 Lumber’s lumber — have been created. Overcome with tears of joy, they walk through into the light, and the commercial concludes with the company tagline, “The will to succeed is always welcome here.”

This would seem to include success in the criminal endeavor that is illegal migration.

  • Coffee Wars: Vet-owned Coffee Company Targets Politically Correct Starbucks

    Donkey-ElephantBy Selwyn Duke

When Starbucks isn’t peddling four-dollar cups of coffee, they’re peddling leftist policy. Now a veteran-owned rival is taking aim at the caffeinated neo-communists with what they say is better java — and better principles.

Responding to Starbucks’ pledge to hire 10,000 (mostly Muslim) migrants during the next five years in the 75 countries in which it operates, Black Rifle Coffee Company (BRCC) has decided to see the virtue-signaling bet and raise Starbucks some patriotism: It will hire 10,000 veterans.

  •  Actress Alison Becker Sends Racist, Sexist Tweet

    Prejudice SignBy Selwyn Duke

It’s yet another example of Trump-era celebrity derangement. Comedienne and actress Alison Becker attacked me via Twitter recently, saying I “have absolutely no authority on inequality as a white, cis male.”

Becker, a host on Fuse and VH1 who has also appeared on Law & Order: Criminal Intent, had some hostile intent Feb. 1 in tweeting that an article I wrote “is ignorant, offensive, and misses the point.” She didn’t indicate what piece raised her ire (I write a lot), but the only article of mine published that day was titled “The Equality Con: Why Income Gaps Don’t Matter” and made the snowflake-melting assertion that inequality is “irrelevant.”

  • How to Drain the Judicial Swamp

    Judge pounding GavelBy Selwyn Duke

It’s no surprise the Democrats plan to fight against the nomination of President Trump’s Supreme Court pick, 10th Circuit Court of Appeals judge Neil Gorsuch. There are no confirmation battles like Supreme Court confirmation battles because, as we always hear, such a decision can “shape the country for a generation.”

This doesn’t sound like the role envisioned by the founders. As Alexander Hamilton wrote in The Federalist No. 78, the judiciary is (theoretically) the “least dangerous” branch of government because it “has no influence over either the sword or the purse.” So how have the courts been afforded so much power?

“Afforded” is the word. In reality, the judiciary has become the most dangerous branch due to ignorance and congressional abdication of responsibility.

  • Michael Savage Is Wrong on Abortion

    Baby in WombBy Selwyn Duke

What if a family doesn’t “have the money for that second or third child?” asked radio host Michael Savage recently. “Is that not a justifiable situation for an abortion?” It was a question the talk giant posed to his audience last Friday after the March for Life in Washington, D.C. And it certainly warrants examination.

  • Neil Gorsuch and the Living Constitution Lie

    552042_lowBy Selwyn Duke

While leftists are outraged at the idea of banning immigrants who may spit on our Constitution, banning judges who would actually uphold it is a different matter. This brings us to the opposition to President Trump’s Supreme Court pick, Judge Neil Gorsuch, who The New York Times actually calls a “Nominee for a Stolen Seat.” In reality, the Times advocates a perversion of judicial philosophy that long ago had stolen Americans’ birthright.

  • The Equality Con: Why Income Gaps Don’t Matter

    Con ManBy Selwyn Duke

One of the more destructive modern movements is our obsession with equality. Just consider the reaction to Oxfam’s recent report indicating that a mere eight men own the same wealth as half of humanity—the 3.6 billion poorest people on the planet.

Recommending income redistribution, Oxfam’s executive director, Winnie Byanyima, opined that it “is obscene for so much wealth to be held in the hands of so few….” Others have sought to lend perspective, assertingthat the statistic is no surprise: The richest men hail primarily from nations providing economic freedom whereas the poorest live disproportionately in socialist countries.

  • Boy Scouts’ Moral Collapse: Will Allow “Trans” Girls in Ranks

    Confusion-Traffic SignsBy Selwyn Duke

It’s the Boy Scouts — or something like that, anyway.

There was a time when the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) spent money fighting a lawsuit brought by a girl who wanted to be a “boy” scout. The organization won that battle. Now it has lost its mind, deciding to let a girl join its ranks simply because she claims to be a boy.

The BSA will now judge applicants based on their “gender identity” and not, as had been the policy, based on the sex indicated on their birth certificate. Because birth certificates are, as Barack Obama proved, so yesterday.

  •  Trump vs. the “Islamic Conquest of the West”

    MuslimStarandCrescentBy Selwyn Duke

The irrational left, which means virtually all the left, is apoplectic over President Trump’s executive order halting immigration from terrorist-spawning countries. Its minions are complaining that the move is “un-American,” which in their world apparently involves playing Russian roulette with American lives.

The New York Times just ran a teary-eyed piece lamenting “immediate collateral damage imposed on people who, by all accounts, had no sinister intentions in trying to come to the United States,” as the paper put it. The fake news is right there — “by all accounts” — slipped in casually in the hope the reader will slide by it unthinkingly. In reality, there are many people, from intelligence experts to politicians to social commentators to Muslims themselves, warning that there’s no way to truly know these people’s “intentions.”

  • Holocaust Survivor: Leftists Calling Trump “Hitler” Are “Crazy”

Back to School DuncecapBy Selwyn Duke

“He’s a Nazi!” is the cry. It’s now an all-too-common accusation, hurled at anyone threatening leftist power — and Donald Trump is no exception. But to this a Holocaust survivor takes exception, calling this smear of the president “crazy.”

Anita Dittman’s story of life as a Jewish girl in Nazi Germany, her conversion to Christianity, and time in one of Adolf Hitler’s camps has been told in schools and in her memoir, Trapped in Hitler’s Hell. And while she’s likely far too civil to give hell even to those applying the “Hitler” label recklessly, she did have the following to say about liberals thus characterizing Trump.
