• Muslim “Refugee” Admits: My Main Goal Is to “Islamize” Europeans

    MuslimStarandCrescentBy Selwyn Duke

We’ve been told they’re fleeing war. But some Muslim migrants entering Europe are apparently bringing war — a war for the hearts and minds of Westerners. And one Syrian migrant has admitted as much, telling an Arabic television station that he wasn’t driven to the Old World mainly by fear of death or Da’esh (ISIS), but by a desire to Islamize Europeans.

  • Activists Want to Lynch University President for Saying Instructors “Should be Shot”

    2332141_blogBy Selwyn Duke

“If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun,” said Barack Obama at a 2008 fund-raiser. No one troubled over that comment, but the same cannot be said of an utterance by another president, who, according to some, shot his mouth off.

University of Iowa’s new president, Bruce Harreld (shown, in sport jacket), is in hot water for using a time-honored metaphor. In fact, some agitators want his scalp.

  • New Book from an Insightful Commentator

    Jack Kerwick's BookBy Selwyn Duke

I want to let everyone know that a fellow writer, whom I've long respected, has a new book out. His name is Dr. Jack Kerwick, a philosopher and social commentator who is published at some of the websites that carry my work. His book is titled The American Offensive: Dispatches from the Front, and is a collection of his articles from recent years. He is a true intellectual — in the positive sense of that word — and his work is well worth the read. His book is also a great stocking-stuffer for a thoughtful friend or family member who would enjoy imbibing some keen insights.

Dr. Kerwick's book is available at Amazon here and Barnes & Noble here.

  • Texas Imam Ousted After Supporting Trump’s Muslim Ban

    MuslimStarandCrescentSelwyn Duke

They say “Politics makes strange bedfellows,” and none stranger than a Texas imam who is siding with Donald Trump — on the presidential candidate’s proposal to temporarily ban Muslim immigration into the United States. And politics can also make one strangely unemployed: The imam, Dr. Nidal Alsayyed, has just been forced to resign from his religious directorship for taking his position.

  • Hiding Malik’s Face: To be or Not to be a Muslim — that is the Question

    Muslim Holding SwordBy Selwyn Duke

“You ain’t no Muslim, bruv!” As you may know, this statement was uttered by a bystander after a non-Muslim Muslim™ slit the throat of a man in the Leytonstone subway station in east London last weekend. It was, apparently, a logical spontaneous reaction because, as we all understand, a Muslim ceases to be a Muslim upon committing a terrorist act. It’s not yet known if the transformation turns him into a Christian, an atheist, a Hindu, a Jew or a Zoroastrian, but some magical de-Islamizing process occurs.

Speaking of which, the man shouting “You ain’t no Muslim, bruv!” ain’t no Muslim himself, contrary to initial suspicions. Rather, he’s a 39-year-old security guard from north London identified only as “John”; you know, the kind of guy Archie Bunker might call “a regula’ Englishman there.” But let us just call him No-Muslim-Jihadi John.

Now, John is apparently an authority on Islam. As such, the Obama administration might want to consult with him on a certain matter: the public display of San Bernardino terrorist Tashfeen Malik’s photograph. Note that while fellow terrorist Syed Farook’s photo was published almost immediately, his bride Malik’s didn’t appear for days. And according to ex-Muslim and author of The Devil We Don’t Know, Nonie Darwish, this was to appease Muslims.

  • Where Trump is Wrong on Muslim Immigration

    MuslimStarandCrescentBy Selwyn Duke

Donald Trump proved again why he’s the man the Establishment loves to hate, suggesting early last week that we ban Muslim immigration “until our country’s representatives can figure out what the hell is going on.” In response, the powers-that-be, fearing becoming the powers-that-were, have roundly condemned him, in one case saying he should “go to hell.” And I could fault Trump, too:

His proposal doesn’t go far enough.

We should halt all immigration, as I’ve recommended for years.

Yet in the least and as Trump suggests, Muslim immigration should be suspended immediately.

  • Trump is Right Say U.K. Police: No-go Zones Do Exist

    Burning VanBy Selwyn Duke

One day in middle school, Stanley Simon, then Bronx borough president, paid a visit to my class. Fielding students’ questions, one girl asked him about the burned-out buildings in the Bronx. Playing the typical politician, he emphatically replied, “Where?! Where?!” Having been raised in a somewhat less rarified atmosphere than my schoolmates, I could have told him where. But at age 13 I wasn’t inclined to speak up.

Public officials are almost universally loath to admit that decay or disorder exists within their jurisdictions, especially since their policies are often to blame. Such is the case with European politicians denying the existence of “no-go zones,” Muslim enclaves in which the enforcement of European civil law is spotty at best and where police and emergency personnel may fear to tread. In fact, when presidential candidate Donald Trump recently said that such Islamized areas exist in London, he was castigated by British officials. But now some U.K. police officers have come forward with a startling admission:

    Trump is right.

  • Ted Cruz: President Can Ignore Unconstitutional Supreme Court Decisions

    Judge pounding GavelBy Selwyn Duke

Are we Americans meant to be governed by the rule of law or the rule of lawyers? For a long time now we’ve been under the latter, with the belief that whatever five unelected judges on the Supreme Court say must go for 320 million citizens. But presidential candidate Senator Ted Cruz (shown) has now challenged this opinion, siding with no less a figure than Thomas Jefferson, who long ago warned that such an opinion would make our Constitution a “suicide pact.”

  • Stay out of the Bushes: The Best Reason Not to Vote for an Establishment Candidate

    Donkey-ElephantBy Selwyn Duke

Would you hire someone for an important job if he admitted right off the bat he couldn’t perform one of the basic functions of the job?

Our federal-government behemoth is involved in countless things not within its constitutional purview, from orchestrating health care to ruling on marriage to regulating college sports (Title IX) to efforts to ensure “diversity” around the nation. In fact, economist Dr. Walter Williams estimates that approximately two-thirds of the federal budget concerns matters in which Washington has no constitutional warrant to be involved. One of the handful of legitimate functions of the feds, however, is to secure the border and tend to im/migration — this includes ensuring that foreign aliens aren’t in our country illegally.

Yet what do we hear, or have heard in the past, from every prominent establishment candidate? It’s always some variation on what Ohio governor John “Can’t do” Kasich said in the November Fox News GOP debate: “C'mon, folks, we all know you can't pick them [illegals] up and ship them back across the border."

  • “Racial” and “Religious” Profiling Now — or Death Later

    Police CruiserBy Selwyn Duke

“If You See Something, Say Something™” the DHS slogan goes (yes, it is trademarked). “It takes a community to protect a community,” the feds continue. “Informed, alert communities play a critical role in keeping our nation safe.” No doubt. But the best information in the world is of little use if social pressure prevents one from disclosing it. Such was the case before the San Bernardino tragedy, when a man living near terrorist Syed Farook’s Redlands home noticed suspicious-looking Middle Eastern men in the area. But he “decided not to report anything,” wrote CBS Los Angeles, “since he did not wish to racially profile those people.” Ah, the power of a lie — to silence. And to kill.

And it’s time to kill that lie. This starts with grasping a simple truth: There is no such thing as “racial profiling” or “religious profiling” per se. There is only good criminal profiling and bad criminal profiling. The good variety considers all relevant factors, based on sound criminological science, regardless of political concerns. The bad kind discriminates unjustly among those factors and only allows greater suspicion and scrutiny of people who aren’t politically favored.
