• In San Bernardino’s Wake, Anti-Christian Left Jumps Shark With “Prayer Shaming”

    HandsClaspedinPrayerBy Selwyn Duke

“GOD ISN’T FIXING THIS,” shouted the December 3 New York Daily News cover. Then there was the sneering, “Dear ‘thoughts and prayers’ people: Please shut up and slink away. You are the problem, and everyone knows it,” by Washington Post columnist Gene Weingarten. These sentiments, in case you didn’t know, were expressed right after the San Bernardino terrorist incident — almost before the blood was even dry.

The Left has long exhibited antipathy for religion, Christianity in particular. Yet the reaction after the San Bernardino shooting, committed by jihadists Syed Farook and his bride, Tashfeen Malik, is unprecedented. Leftist entities ranging from papers to pundits to politicians have gone where no liberal has gone before: mocking those who say their wishes and prayers are with deceased crime victims and their loved ones.

  • Mizzou Crew: The Liars Who Hate the Lie of Academic Freedom

    407898_blogBy Selwyn Duke

It could occur to one that the difference between “safe spaces” in today’s U.S. and yesterday’s U.S.S.R., other than the name, is the size. Here they’re tiny areas on some college campuses.

In the Soviet Union they were every place apart from the tiny areas called gulags.

One could also ponder how, while the Soviets were somewhat less euphemistic than their American progeny, it’s no stretch to say their insane asylum outside the gulags was also a “safe space.” To exist, any lie-based ideology needs a sheltered area — even if it’s only inside a person’s own cranium — that is safe…from Truth.

  • Pentagon to Put Women in All Combat Roles, Even Though “Most Fit,” “Most Lethal” Soldier Is “a Man”

    Female SoldierBy Selwyn Duke

The Spartans once boasted that for hundreds of years their women hadn’t seen enemy campfires. Now many consider it a bragging point to say that America’s women will be thrust from the frying pan and into the fire.

In an unprecedented move, Defense Secretary Ashton Carter announced Thursday that combat roles in all units will now be open to women.

  • Chinese “Clone Factory” Scientist: Human Replicates on Horizon

    Baby in WombBy Selwyn Duke

“Hey, it’s a whole new you.” Sometimes uttered after a person has lost weight or made some other major physical improvement, the statement may take on new meaning with a technology one Chinese scientist says is already a reality: the capacity to clone a person. In fact, says Xu Xiaochun, chief executive of Boyalife Group and the mastermind behind the world’s largest “cloning factory,” his company refrains from replicating humans only for fear of public backlash.

And cloning is already becoming big business, with the also controversial matter of replicating animals front and center.

  • ISIS Boast: We’re Sending “Sleeper Cells” to Europe Via Refugee Program

    Muslim Holding SwordBy Selwyn Duke

No-go zones — elitist media and politicians claim they don’t exist. But they’d better tell that to Da’esh (ISIS), which, in a recently uncovered manifesto, brags that it has been using Western refugee programs to sneak terrorists into Europe with the aim of creating no-go zones. Perhaps even better described as Sharia-dominant mini-caliphates, Da’esh’s intent is to use the areas as bases from which to launch attacks such as the November 13 Paris massacre and the jihadist killings in San Bernardino yesterday.

In the 99-page manifesto entitled Black Flags from Rome, the social-media-savvy Da’esh boasts, “There were small armies of the Islamic State within every country of Europe by late 2014, and the intelligence agencies didn’t even know about it!”

  • San Bernardino Shooting: Political Correctness Kills

    874847_lowBy Selwyn Duke

There was a tragic incident of climate change Wednesday, or so Barack Obama might say. As I was driving home that evening listening to the still sparse details on the San Bernardino shooting, the news report informed that there were two dead suspects, a man and woman. So I already knew more than the authorities were telling: I figured the two assailants were non-white, almost certainly Muslim. After all, if the police knew their sexes, they knew what they looked like. And if they’d been white, it would have been announced right away.

You see, I know the drill. When the suspects are non-white, politically correct authorities will never mention it for fear of condemnation. “Why are you calling attention to their race or ethnicity?!” they’ll be asked. Of course, they didn’t mind calling attention to their sex. In the leftist upside-down world, all characteristics are equal, but some are more equal than others. Really, the more consistently PC way of describing the terrorists would have been as “two sentient bipeds.” Because, you know, four legs good, two legs bad.

  • Hulu Running Homosexual-themed Ad during Family/Kids Programming

    Linked Male SymbolsBy Selwyn Duke

What’s worse for a business’s bottom line than wading into controversial, divisive issues?

Wading into controversial, divisive issues with the very demographic likely to be divided from your business by your actions.

I recently discovered that Hulu, a company offering streaming of TV shows, movies and other video content, is running a homosexual-themed advertisement during family/kids programming. The commercial was created by upscale fashion retailer Nordstrom and advertises their “gifts.” It’s one of two such commercials, both of which involve the idea of coming back to someone you love.

  • Turkey: Why Muslim Nations Shouldn’t be Part of NATO

    511636_blogBy Selwyn Duke

With NATO member Turkey’s recent downing of a Russian aircraft sparking fears of WWIII, a rather politically incorrect question needs to be asked: should a Muslim nation have NATO membership?

Having a country as part of the NATO alliance is no small matter. Since an attack on one member nation is considered an attack on all, an escalation of the Russian-Turk crisis resulting in military action against Turkey by Russia could, conceivably, lead to a WWIII. This is why it’s imperative that NATO members be rational actors.

As to this, I have a theory about the shoot-down of the Russian plane. It’s just a theory, and admittedly it’s “probably” not the explanation in this case. Yet I think it’s worthy of consideration, especially since it could be a factor — and a profoundly dangerous one — at some point in the future.

  • Liberal Fascism May Be in the News, but New It’s Not

    Silenced ManBy Selwyn Duke

“Liberal institutions cease to be liberal as soon as they are attained: later on, there are no worse and no more thorough injurers of freedom than liberal institutions,” noted German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. Nietzsche was no traditionalist or conservative; in fact, he was perhaps history’s chief poster boy for atheism and a devout relativist. Yet that 19th-century iconoclast observed something old that, even today, some regard as new: liberal intolerance.

Comedian and inveterate cynic George Carlin remarked toward the end of his life that while he expected censorship from the Right, “censorship from the Left took me by surprise.” But, of course, everything is new to those who forget history.
