• Prediction: Economic Collapse, Civil Unrest in America by 2016

    Burning VanBy Selwyn Duke

Violence. Rioting. Looting. Economic collapse and civil unrest. This isn’t a dystopian movie plot, but something else according to an economist with a good track record for prognostication: America’s dark future.

The economist is Martin Armstrong, whose correct predictions include the 1987 Black Monday crash and the 1998 Russian financial implosion. And now he’s predicting civil unrest in America by 2016, precipitated by an economic collapse which he calls “the magic ingredient.” “Turn the economy down,” he continued, “and you get civil unrest and revolution.”

  • Red Cross Expels Volunteer Who Opposed Same-sex Marriage

    Sex Symbols-ConfusionBy Selwyn Duke

Bryan Barkley worked hard for the Red Cross for 20 years, volunteering his time to help reunite people with lost family members. But none of this mattered after the 71-year-old U.K. man decided to protest against faux marriage in front of his local church.

The British Red Cross terminated him, saying that his views were incompatible with the organization’s “fundamental principles.”

  • Does Barack Obama Have Blood on His Hands?

    Angel vs. DemonBy Selwyn Duke

Little Eli Waller will never grow up to be president. The four-year-old New Jersey boy will never grow up to be anything because enterovirus D68 took his life — quite possibly because a boy who did grow up to be president, but not really a man, invited the virus into our country.

How many American children have to die in deference to the Democrats’ voter-importation, demographic-warfare effort? We often hear that you have to break a few eggs to make an omelet, but how much Ebola, enterovirus D68 (EV-D68), Chagas Disease, malaria and tuberculosis is an acceptable price to pay to maintain Barack Obama’s open-borders-über-alles policy? These are relevant questions now, especially with a recent report confirming what was always just common sense:

The deadly EV-D68 epidemic in America was likely the result of Obama’s insistence on flooding our country with tens of thousands of illegal-alien minors.

  • Obama: Just Say No to Stay-at-home Moms

    947143_lowBy Selwyn Duke

“And that’s not a choice we want Americans to make.” So said pro-choice president Barack Obama, speaking Friday on women and the economy at Rhode Island College in Providence. And some would say his remark was anything but providential, as the choice he referenced was that of mothers staying at home with their children.

To place Obama’s remark in context, he was advocating increased government pre-school so women could remain in the workforce and said:

  • The Vicious Attacks on Children of Same-sex Couples

Robert Oscar Lopez GLAADBy Selwyn Duke

As the child of a same-sex couple, she’s different. And being different has caused her to be targeted for destruction, threatened and abused, libeled and lied about. She writes under the pseudonym Rivka Edelman, and you will soon see why she’s afraid to use her real name.

Oh, she is being targeted for speaking out against same-sex parenting.

And her tormentors are homosexuality activists.

  • The Special Treatment Homosexuals Demand

    Linked Male SymbolsBy Selwyn Duke

There is one particular thing that illustrates better than anything else the unreasonableness — and some would say gall — of homosexuality activists. It’s not demanding that bakers, shirt printers and wedding planners be party to events and expression deeply contrary to their principles, as offensive as that is. What I speak of is something even more fundamental, something again brought to light by the recent Vatican synod on the family.

As many know, the synod made news with an unwisely released and widely misrepresented mid-term report containing language that the secular media interpreted as signaling Church capitulation on the matter of homosexuality (an excellent article on this by Paul Bois is found here). And when it emerged that the language was the handiwork of just one or two individuals and was roundly rejected by the bishops, melancholia — and Machiavellianism — defined the media. “What a shame it is that the Church rejected the more welcoming tone,” we heard. “We thought tolerance and deference to the times were winning out, but then the voices of prejudice quashed progress.” They thought? Insofar as these leftists think at all, they do it all wrong.

  • College Shock: More Students Are Accepting Killing Children After Birth

    2455472_blogBy Selwyn Duke

Pro-abortion advocates’ mantra has long been, framed from a woman’s point of view, “My body, my choice.” But the sincerity of this argument is again being called into question, this time by a phenomenon on college campuses whereby increasing numbers of students accept “post-birth abortion.”

Yes, that’s the murder of a child after he is born.

The College Fix’s Mairead McArdle has the story, writing:

Anecdotal evidence by leaders of prolife groups such as Created Equal and Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust said in interviews that not only do they see more college students willing to say they support post-birth abortion, but some students even suggest children up to 4 or 5-years-old can also be killed, because they are not yet “self aware.”

“We encounter people who think it is morally acceptable to kill babies after birth on a regular basis at almost every campus we visit,” said Mark Harrington, director of Created Equal. “While this viewpoint is still seen as shocking by most people, it is becoming increasingly popular.”

The observation that there’s growing acceptance of infanticide among college students has also been made by Kristina Garza, a spokeswoman for Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust, which is involved in pro-life activism at West Coast campuses. And she believes she can explain the phenomenon:

  • Man Arrested After Joking With Security, “I’m Not Muslim, Am I?”

    862858_blogBy Selwyn Duke

While many consider singling people out for Ebola quarantine a rights violation, singling them out for punishment for alluding to Islamic terrorism is a different story — at least in Great Britain. And 75-year-old retired hairdresser Paul Griffith learned this the hard way at that nation’s Stansted airport while traveling to Malaga, Spain, for a weeklong vacation earlier this year.

Griffith’s problems began after he set off an airport scanner and upon being asked to remove his shoes quipped, “I’m not Muslim, am I?” The Mirror reports on what happened next:

One of the security guards accused Mr Griffith of racism and called police, arguing he was "shocked and unhappy" at the pensioner's remark.

Mr Griffith, of Colchester, Essex, said: "One minute I am queuing up to get on a plane and the next I am confronted by two armed policemen. They said I had used racist language and took me to an office in the terminal.

I was quizzed for an hour and told I was free to catch my flight but had to report back to police as soon as I returned to the UK.”

Upon returning, Griffith learned he’d been criminally charged with causing “racially or religiously aggravated harassment, alarm or distress.”

  • “No God but Allah”? Father Protests “Pro-Muslim” Curriculum at Son’s School

    MuslimStarandCrescentBy Selwyn Duke

Allah is the greatest. I bear witness that there is no God but Allah. I bear witness that Muhammad is his Prophet.” So reads a handout in Anthony Giannino’s son’s middle school in a passage relating the Muslim call to prayer. It’s part of a world-civilizations curriculum in the Revere, Massachusetts, school district that the father characterizes as pro-Muslim. And he’s quite upset about it — so upset that he has pulled his son out of the class in question. Writes WHDH.com:

"No religion should be taught at school. In their paper it says Allah is their only God. That's insulting to me as a Christian who believes in just Jesus only," said Anthony Giannino.

… "We don't believe in Allah. I don't believe in my son learning about this here," he said. "If my son was from another country and came here, he would have been catered to. But where he's not being catered to, they give him an F."

  • Are Women Finally Trading Uncle Sam for Big Daddy?

    376550_blogBy Selwyn Duke

The Drudge headline the other day read, “Poll Shock: Women Want Republicans!” The story is that for the first time in I don’t know how long, likely women voters want the GOP to control Congress, albeit by the slim margin of 44 to 42 percent. Last month the numbers were 47-40 in the Democrats’ favor.

Yes, this is just one poll. And, yes, smart money might still pick the Democrats to carry women in November. Nonetheless, this unique result does reflect something: the unique time in which we live.

Before getting to that, let’s place the poll in further perspective. Women have long been so solid a liberal constituency that the dichotomy between their and men’s voting habits even has a name: the “gender gap” (in non-Leftspeak language, the “sex gap”). How significant is this political difference? As pundit Ann Coulter pointed out during the G.W. Bush years, “In every presidential election since 1950 — except Goldwater in '64 — the Republican would have won, if only the men had voted.” Even the GOP’s banner election year of 2010, where they assumed control of the House in grand style, did not buck this trend; contrary to popular myth, women still went Democrat that year, 49 to 48 percent. Add to this that the recent poll showing the Republican shift is not from a conservative organization but is Associated Press-GfK handiwork, and you have something worthy of pause for thought. And what does it really mean?
