• Guest Piece: Finance Capitalists and Scapegoats

    Cash and Handcuffs
    By Bruce Walker

    The doctored outrage at AIG
executives raises one of the ugliest specters in modern political
history:  mindless fury directed at “Finance Capitalism.”  The
profits of men who create goods and services is easy to defend.  Bill
Gates gave us Windows.  T. Boone Pickens and Ross Perot drilled for
oil.  Sam Walton retailed consumer goods at very low prices.  People
grasp the value to society which these men produce.

  • It’s Time for a Greed Czar

    Greedy Man
    By Selwyn Duke

With the recent passage of the
“TARP bonus” bill, it’s obvious that our politicians are finally serious about
tackling the problem of greed.  It’s
about time, too.  We’ve long had “hate
crime” laws, so one had to wonder when the next deadly sin would make it on the
    legislative agenda.

  • Must-hear Speech: Brilliant British Politician Has Choice Words for Statists
    http://youtube.com/v/94lW6Y4tBXs
This is Daniel Hannan, a British member of the European Parliament, rendering a speech with an eloquence that makes Barack Obama look like an amateur. He is delivering a tour de force, giving leftist British Prime Minister Gorden Brown a tongue lashing he'll never forget. Yet this isn't just a message for Britain's lacking leader — it's a message for statists the world over.

  • How to Use Your Children to Annoy a Liberal

    Boy Pirate with Gun
    By Selwyn Duke

    Since liberals place a premium
on tolerance, the loving and charitable thing to do is help them develop
it.  Note here that, unbeknownst to many,
tolerance involves enduring something considered to be a negative.  We don’t tolerate a fine meal or a nice car,
for instance; we relish such things.  But
we might have to tolerate bad weather, a cold or Nancy Pelosi.  Now, since liberals actually perceive a great
many positive things to be negative, placing them in situations wherein they
may cultivate tolerance is not difficult.

  • Targeting Guns: Good News, Bad News and Insight

    1080037_low
    By Selwyn Duke

A federal government action that would have undercut the civilian
ammunition supply has been reversed. But since similar threats to
Second Amendment rights lie on the horizon, we must remain ever
vigilant. And, first and foremost, this means engaging the gun-rights
    battle on the cultural level.

In Saul Alinsky’s book Rules for Radicals,
people such as community agita . . . I mean, organizers are instructed
to attack adversaries where they least expect. Alinsky acolyte Barack
Obama takes this advice to heart, and this might explain a recently
thwarted back-door assault on Second Amendment rights.

  • Barnewall: Where’s the Beef at AIG?

    By Marilyn Barnewall

    If the
way Congress has mismanaged "The AIG Affair" doesn't tell you
what a bunch of clowns represent you, nothing will. If you believe Congress
is really trying to solve the AIG problem (which, to be totally truthful,
Congress created) you should not read the rest of this article. It will
    make you angry.

    Yes.
To answer a popular question, Timothy Geithner, our inept Treasury Secretary,
had to know about the employee bonuses being paid to AIG. If he did not
know about the bonuses, he wasn't doing his job as the head of the New
York Federal Reserve Bank (which he was, at the time the bonus agreement
occurred). It's this simple: If he is so naïve or dumb that he did
not know what was happening, he has no business being Secretary of the
Treasury for the United States of America. And, these appear to be the
only two possibilities: Either he lied, or he is dumb and naïve.

  • Reader Email — The Fetal Position: A Prospective

    Dateline Royter’s 3/10/2011-

In a plea for continuing funding for her research, Dr. Elita
Desdemona (senior research coordinator at Harvard) asked President Obama this
week to “please continue and enhance the governments funding of embryonic stem
    cell research.”

    In her 1500 page
report, Dr. Desdemona cited, “although we have not, to this day, delivered to
humanity a cure for cancer, diabetes or Parkinson’s disease, it is very
important that we continue our work.”  She
continued, “You just never know when the day may come when a discovery will be
made that will change life on earth as we know it.  Imagine the day when there will be no
disease, no sickness; the great minds of this world could live on.”

  • Guest Piece: The Banality of Obama

    Smoking Obama
    By Bruce Walker

Pundits have been critiquing the new administration for its socialism, for its willful ignorance of foreign policy, for its puerile missteps, but the salient fact of the Obama Presidency is its banality.  He who promised change has dredged up the failed nostrums of the past as if they were something new and fresh.  In fact, the ordinariness, the dullness, the lifelessness of the Obama Administration is obvious.
