• Burning Books: Amazon Moves to Make Anti-Jihad Author a “Non-person”

Big Man Stepping on Small ManBy Selwyn Duke

Tommy Robinson is, one could say speaking loosely, being turned into a non-person. Oh, he still lives and breathes and walks and talks; though when he talks now, fewer hear him. He surely can still mount a soapbox and opine on a street corner — until the hate-speech cops haul him away. Mind you, it wouldn’t be the first time he was hauled away.

Who is Tommy Robinson? He’s a British anti-Islamization crusader and founder of the anti-immigration English Defense League who the enemedia love dubbing “far right.” He also recently coauthored an Islam-critical book entitled Mohammed’s Koran, which was selling so well on Amazon that the company requested it be put in special sales programs. Then they did give it special status.

    Amazon banned it completely.

In fact, even second-hand versions now cannot be sold via its service.

  • Full-blown Socialism Likely Coming to U.S., Warns Famed Economist

    Communist FlagBy Selwyn Duke

President Trump vowed at his State of the Union address “that America will never be a socialist country.” But legendary economist Dr. Thomas Sowell sounded a more pessimistic note this week, saying that as far as avoiding a dystopian socialist future goes, “I wouldn’t bet on it.”

Sowell, a Hoover Institution senior fellow and author of more than 30 books, issued his warning during a Tuesday appearance on Fox Business Network’s Cavuto: Coast to Coast. After being asked by interviewer David Asman if the United States was “destined to go through a period of socialism,” the economist replied, “I do have a great fear that, in the long run, we may not make it.”

  • Empowering Socialism: Some Republicans Caving on Climate Change

    Communist FlagBy Selwyn Duke

It’s like Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Republican legislators all look the same as they did in saner times, but are now sounding like yesterday’s Democrats: Having caved, some are suddenly embracing the man-caused climate-change agenda.

  • Oops! Libs Study Political Prejudice — and the Most Biased County Wasn’t Conservative

    Donkey-ElephantBy Selwyn Duke

Peace and love, flowers in their hair, and stopping the hate — and wishing their subhuman political opponents dead. Liberal Atlantic magazine recently commissioned a study of “political prejudice” in America, and in a perhaps hypothesis-busting result learned that the most politically intolerant county is also one almost monolithically liberal.

  • GoogTwitFace: Big Tech’s Big Leftism and Big Intolerance

    Prejudice SignBy Selwyn Duke

“Liberal institutions cease to be liberal as soon as they are attained: later on, there are no worse and no more thorough injurers of freedom than liberal institutions,” observed philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. This is brought to mind by new research showing that at “Facebook, Google and many other tech companies the level of political intolerance is stunning,” as Fox News’ Garrett Johnson puts it.

At issue is a Lincoln Network-commissioned study that surveyed more than 1,900 tech professionals on the matter of “viewpoint intolerance.” Released last week, it reported that nearly “half of Lincoln’s 2019 Viewpoint Inclusion Survey respondents believe their companies promote a political agenda — specifically, a left-leaning one, with 47.7 percent of respondents saying their respective company has a clear liberal agenda, as opposed to the 37.9 percent who reported a conservative agenda,” informs Johnson.

One problem with the research is already evident: Self-reporting relies on the (mis?)perceptions of the respondents. To the point here, tech companies are notoriously left-wing, so the notion that 38 percent work at companies with a “conservative agenda” sounds a bit fanciful (unless they all just happen to work at the same anomalous firm!). Can anyone name one prominent tech company that actually has a rightist agenda and cite what conservative causes it’s pushing?

  • Marijuana in College: Once Just a Hazard, Now It’s a Degree

  • Snitch Switch: Smart Assistants With “Moral AI” Could Call Police on Owners Who Break Law

    Man in CrosshairsBy Selwyn Duke

Call it Terminator meets the second-grade tattletale, but some “experts” have suggested that electronic home assistants could be programmed with moral artificial intelligence (AI) that could decide whether to report its owners to the authorities for breaking the law.

  • Dem Hopefuls: Bernie, Biden, and the Billionaire. Who Could Ask for Anything Less?

    Failure FigureBy Selwyn Duke

The Democrats are ready and rarin’ to go with the 2020 presidential race, and so it’s out with the old and in with, well, the older. While the Left takes pains today to rail against “old white men,” that’s precisely what some of those currently sucking up the White House-hopeful oxygen are. Moreover, the new Democrat policy push, socialism, is far older than they.

Just about a week after announcing his run, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) has raised $10 million. Ex-vice president Joe Biden, who’s polling high among possible 2020 contenders, just got “rock star treatment” at a Fort Lauderdale gig that earned him personally $150,000. Then there’s former New York City mayor Little Big Gulp (a.k.a. Michael Bloomberg), the billionaire who often teases presidential runs. He just captured the unofficial endorsement of fellow billionaire Warren Buffet.

Oh, on inauguration day 2020, Bernie would be 79 years old, and Biden and Little Big Gulp (LBG) would be 78. Thus would any of them easily be the oldest man ever elected to the presidency; President Trump was 70 when taking the oath in 2016, and Ronald Reagan was 73 at his second term’s start.

  • Contradiction? Libs Outnumber Conservatives in 33 Percent Fewer States Now, Yet Nation Is More Liberal

    Donkey-ElephantBy Selwyn Duke

With all the “conservatives” around, it’s no wonder that marriage is universally considered one man and one woman, the trans agenda has been soundly rejected, sexual propriety is de rigueur, and the border is secure.

    Oh, wait…

Regardless of our cultural drift, a Gallup survey does tell us that the number of states where liberals outnumber conservatives has dropped from nine to six.

“The residents of most U.S. states are more likely to identify as conservative than as liberal in their political ideology,” Gallup reports. “In 25 states, the conservative advantage is significantly greater than the national average, including 19 ‘highly conservative’ states in which conservatives outnumber liberals by at least 20 percentage points. Meanwhile, in six states, there are more liberals than conservatives.”

  • When the West Harbors the Nazis of Our Time

    Muslim Holding SwordBy Selwyn Duke

It may sound like inviting the fox into the henhouse, but some Westerners want to welcome returning Islamic State (IS) fighters and brides into their countries. This problem is so bad in Sweden, in fact, that one politician just said that the nation has become for jihadis “what Argentina was for Nazis.”
