The Women’s March marchers continue to march — into battle.
With themselves.
First we heard that a Women’s March event was canceled, and that at least a couple of chapters dissolved or broke off from the national organization, over its leaders’ anti-Jewish statements. Now comes news that yet another march was canceled, this time because the attendees would have been, well, just too white.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel (shown) may be preparing to step off the political stage, but she’s apparently going out not with a whimper but a globalist bang. This was signaled recently at an event organized by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, where the German leader and ex-communist proclaimed, “In this day nation states must today — should today, I say — be ready to give up sovereignty,” according to the Express.
Ah, the difference between “must” and “should”: a spontaneous Freudian slip to the mind and two seconds in a speech — and a whole lot of power in government.
Speaking at the “Parliamentarianism Between Globalisation and National Sovereignty” event last month, Merkel impugned “populism” and “suggested countries should [must?] be willing to give up control over their own affairs and let organisations such as the European Union have more power,” as the Express summarized it. The paper called this “a veiled swipe at Brexit.” It was likely that — and more.

It’s what they call an international incident — that’s what happens when you lock up Chinese “royalty.” And this is precisely what the arrest of a possible heiress apparent to a Chinese tech leviathan, one that’s a major player in the nation’s world-domination scheme, amounts to.
When Meng Wanzhou was arrested in Vancouver, British Columbia, December 1, the Chinese regime went ballistic. Beijing proceeded to take three Canadians, “making no secret of the fact these arrests were acts of retaliation,” writes the South China Morning Post. The regime also made clear that more “revenge hostages” might be taken if “Princess” Meng, as she is known, was not released.

They can sense it. They can feel it. Something is seriously wrong in our civilization, and many people know it. This is why despite the relatively good economic times, most Americans polled say our country is on the “wrong track.” Yet many are like a gravely ill man who knows he’s not well but can’t precisely identify his ailment. Most often, Americans have only a vague sense of cultural malaise, or they “self-diagnose” wrongly.
Years ago I had a brief “state of the nation” discussion with a very fine, older country gentleman. While no philosopher, he did offer the following diagnosis. Struggling for words and gesticulating a bit, he said, “There’s…there’s no morality.”

Despite being targeted by activists for destruction, it’s Chick-fil-A that now has the reason to crow:
It’s poised to leapfrog a few major competitors to become our nation’s number-three fast-food chain in terms of sales, remaining behind only McDonald’s and Starbucks. The kicker is that it does this being open only six days a week; Christian-owned, every franchise is closed Sundays.
Famous for its chicken sandwiches (where’s the beef? Not at Chick-fil-A) and for being a traditionalist company that wouldn’t chicken out of the culture wars, the chain has been flipped the bird by leftist activists.
