• The Ignoramus Americus

There is often a profound difference between morality and legality, and, if this were a just world, a good percentage of the American left would be tried for treason.  If that seems a radical statement, I ask you: What price should be paid for sowing the seeds of your nation's destruction?  What should be the punishment for creating millions of people so ignorant, so effete, so corrupted in judgment that they are unable to sustain a free republic, resist enemies foreign and domestic, and perpetuate their culture?  I'll leave that to you to decide and just talk a bit about the state of the electorate.

  • Guest Commentary: Draft Ditka

    By Bruce Walker

    The
Illinois State Legislature is going to quickly remove the power of senatorial
appointment from its latest disgraced governor.  That means some other politician will
fill the seat held by another politician, all of whom are steeped in the
    corruption that is Illinois politics.
The bipartisan slime includes the oldest and biggest city machine in
American history, Daley and Son.  In
the 1920s, Mayor Daley’s office was held by a hand picked candidate of Al
    Capone.  It includes Blagojevich’s
    imprisoned Republican predecessor.
It includes the whole rotten mess, and it is safe to say that almost no
one who is the next Junior Senator from Illinois will take office with clean
    hands.  Except Mike
    Ditka.

  • The Socialist and the Stone

When I was still within a stone’s throw of ladhood, I had an acquaintance who was essentially a socialist.  I can’t say for sure he proclaimed himself as such — although I believe he did — but that was certainly where his passions lay.

He was a man of about 60 years, and his exterior matched his ideology.  Much of his hair and its melanin had obviously been redistributed, and he certainly was the very model of a modern minor socialist.

  • Illinois Governor Arrested by FBI on Corruption Charges

    By Selwyn Duke

The Democrat governor of Illinois, Rod Blagojevich, and his chief of staff, John Harris, were arrested by FBI agents on corruption charges at approximately 6:15 AM today.  The arrests are the result of a three-year federal investigation that involved secretly taping the governor's conversations with the help of his friend and confidant, John Wyma.  Reporting on the case, the Chicago Tribune writes:

  • Self-esteem: Smells Like Teen Trouble

    By Selwyn Duke

There is a reason why G.K. Chesterton once called common sense ". . . that forgotten branch of psychology."  It is because the field can reliably be used to govern your life; all you need do is listen closely to its prescriptions.

    And do exactly the opposite.

  • Guest Commentary: Our Foolish Infatuation with Change

    238588_blog
    By Bruce
    Walker

    Barack
Obama won the presidency based upon the theme of change.  We already live
in a world of constant change, and we assume too easily that change is good.
Politicians, professors, pundits, self-proclaimed champions of the oppressed –
those with vested interests in change – repeat the lie that change makes things
better. But these cheerleaders of constant change are unhappy people, by and
large. Certainly there are some areas of human life in which change is good –
who would want to go back to the medicine or dentistry of fifty years ago? –
but, surely, if there is one idea which should have been debunked in the last
century it would be the idea of beneficent progress. The First World War was
dramatic and catastrophic progress. The Bolshevik junta in 1917 was progress in
the direct of omnipresent police state and slave labor camps. The Second World
War was progress along the road to genocidal madness and global war.
Ghastly diseases and debilitating physical conditions are “progressive,” and
that means change which is bad.

  • The Rising Tide of Corruption

For a long time now, people have lamented the state of younger
generations. And for a long time now, they have been right. If this
makes me sound like a fuddy-duddy who bemoans the spirit of the age
simply because he long ago wedded his own, know that indicting the next
generation implicates your own as well. After all, the apple doesn’t
    fall far from the tree.

  • Communists Celebrate Obama’s Victory

It isn't just Bill Ayers, the ex-Weathermen terrorist and self-described small-c communist, who is happy about Barack Obama's presidential victory.  No, the big-c variety are quite pleased as well.  Writes the red rag People's Weekly World (PWW {"People's" in a name is always a bad sign}):

  • Irreligious Leader Wants to Stifle Talk of Sin

    By Selwyn Duke

It's really quite strange when you encounter a theologian or man of the cloth who appears to have no faith.  One could really wonder why they devote their lives to something they seem to believe is a fairytale.  I suppose they're much like experts in ancient literature.

Some people who fit this description want us to be non-judgmental with respect to risky sexual behavior.  CNSNews.com reports on their goals, writing:
