Intelligent Design and Evolution

While the debate over evolution in schools has been developing for many years in a primordial soup of passion, generally speaking, it hasn't reached a very high level of complexity. The opponents of Intelligent Design Theory (ID) tend to dismiss its advocates as serpent-handling dogmatists who make a sport of spitting on Galileo's grave, while some at the opposite end of the spectrum may portray anyone entertaining evolution in any context as the serpent in Eden.

Bunker, is one of those legendary television characters, and one of his
uproarious lines is apropos here. It was
uttered during a scene in which his daughter, Gloria, passionately asked him,
“Daddy, did you know that 65 percent of the people murdered in the last ten
years were killed by handguns?” The curmudgeonly
patriarch’s reply was classic: “Would it make you feel any better, little girl,
if they was pushed outta’ windas’?”

Kenyan Ambassador Says Obama Born in Kenya!

In this revelatory audio footage from the show "Mike in the Morning," the Kenyan ambassador Peter Ogego lets it slip that it's "well-known" Barack Obama was born in Kenya. The hosts asked the ambassador some light-hearted questions and engaged in some banter before casually asking him about Obama's birthplace, so it just came out as a matter of course. Of all the information I've come across regarding this matter, this is the closest thing to a smoking gun. This is a very interesting video a reader sent me featuring Soviet defector Yuri Bezmenov. He was a KGB man who was trained in subversion and who has some very interesting things to report about how communists work to corrupt the judgment and degrade the will of a targeted population. There is long interview with him (about 90 minutes in duration and presented in segments) on YouTube; I think you'll find the whole thing interesting.

O’Reilly the Culture Warrior Doesn’t Understand the War

Quite a while ago, I wrote a piece titled "Conservatism is Dead; Long Live Conservatism?" in which I explained the process by which the right loses the culture war and why the I won't call myself a "conservative." A good example of the fault I describe in the article was exhibited on Thursday night, when Bill O'Reilly opined on his cable news program that the war over Christmas has been won except for a "few skirmishes," as I think he put it.
