  • Anti-Islamist Film “Fitna” Released Amidst Controversy and Condemnation

    Weathering a maelstrom of controversy, Geert Wilders’ cinematic warning
    about Islamism has finally made it to cyberspace. The path it’s taking
    may be more interesting than the film itself; Wilders’ domain www.fitnathemovie.com
    was frozen by Network Solutions, the movie was removed from host
    Liveleak.com’s servers after threats against its staff and then
    restored, the Dutch courts were reviewing a petition claiming that
    Wilders is guilty of hate speech, and Dutch firms are threatening a lawsuit
    against the embattled legislator if they’re hurt by a boycott of their
    products. Yet, while most find fault with what the film explicitly
    presents, I take issue with something implied.

  • The Phony Story of the Pregnant Man

    Since we now live in a daytime-talk-show culture, it didn’t surprise me to see that one of the biggest news stories during the last couple of days concerned a pregnant "man."  Of course, since ours is now also a culture of lies, it shouldn’t shock anyone to learn that the individual in question isn’t a man at all.

  • Selwyn Duke Responds to Critics of Conversion Article

    My recent piece about how we should react to those who pray for our conversion evoked a greater response than I had supposed it would.  (I expect Howard Stern, rap stars and all other things scatological to attract attention, but not something frivolous like philosophy).  Most of the emails were positive; however, I received a number from Jewish people who, in varying measures, objected to my defense of prayer for conversion.  One reader wrote:
